Full Service Contractors are primarily, but not exclusively, commercial contractors who provide a full range of services from framing to sheathing, lathing to plastering, EIFS to stucco, conventional to ornamental. Others specialize in EIFS only, while others may concentrate on “patch & repair,” while still others provide very specialized swimming pool finishes. HIRING A CONTRACTOR:

Hiring the right contractor for a home improvement or remodeling project is a difficult process for most people. Few of us are versed in construction methods and we’ve all heard the horror stories about contractor rip-offs.  How does one choose wisely? Well first check to see if the contractor is a member of a trade association. Generally speaking, if a contractor is interested in belonging to such a group, he or she takes a serious approach to business. Second, most trade associations know the reputations of their members and the level of skill and training they have. For example, you’re reading this because you have an interest in learning how to hire a contractor, while we have an interest in pairing you with the right one. Don’t hire the first guy who comes along. Take a cue from commercial construction where virtually all work is bid. Get a minimum of three bids. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. Interview the contractors who respond to your request. While you may not be versed in construction terminology and execution, a good contractor knows his business and should respond confidently regarding the work the firm will perform. If you “click” with a particular person chances are your working relationship with that person will be positive. If you don’t like the way a person conducts himself or his appearance leaves you wondering, things may turn negative quickly.  Follow your instincts and remember the low bid is not always the best bid.
