Plasterers' Local #3 has wrapped up its
first round of OSHA 10 hour
safety training classes for 2006. The total
number of plasterers in St. Louis who now have taken the
OSHA 10 hour class is 160. We're still a little short of
our goal of 100% by spring 2007, but with new apprentice
classes beginning in the fall and a journeyman upgrade
training session scheduled for early winter, the local
expects to be well into the 90% range by January 2007. The
challenge to get the OSHA 10 hour training for all
plasterers was issued by PRIDE of St. Louis, the
labor/management organization. PRIDE wants St. Louis to
retain its position as the "safest construction town in
America."
